Skating Hedgie!

Hello my crafty peeps!

I was supposed to be prepping for Thursdays class, but ended up fooling around with the retired Holiday Hedgehogs stamp set.  I really liked the effect we had last class with the skating hedgie that I had to try it again bit on a 4.25" square card...

Lovely as a tree embossed in clear

Fussy cut hedgie , coloured, stickles and Crystal effects then pooped on card after I had added Irredecent Ice to trees and pond.

Finished card

This is a simple card compared to the previous but I think we will do the other one again on Thursday per a special request...

Thank you for stopping by and stay tuned for more Christmas cards throughout the week....

Hugs, Karen

Stampin' Up "Work Of Art" - Thank You cards

Hello my crafty peeps!

I wanted to share this cute and very simple Thank you card. I have done this one before, saw a sample on Pinterest last year.  I used the Work of Art Stamp set, and just stamped off as I went down the card. I really like how the colors kinda blend in and it was easy!

I made these cards as Thank You cards for everyone who placed an order this month. I love giving thank you cards, and I don't know anyone who doesn't like hearing the words thank you!

Here is another version

I hope you feel inspired!

World Card Making Day is October 3, 2015!

Hello my crafty peeps!

In preparation for World Cardmaking Day, I am trying to think up a few make and takes to have available at my house.  A few friends will be stopping by to make some cards and just have a giggle Saturday October 3rd, 2015.

I would love to hear what you have planned for World Cardmaking Day .... leave me a comment.

Here is a very clean and simple card I put together highlighting a few current trends including gold, pearls, and snowflakes!

I have bought so much gold embellishments lately that I need to really start using all that ribbon, emboss powder, glitter, and paper. Have you used gold in a project lately?

Let it Snow!

Hello my cafty peeps!

Happy Wednesday, Isn't that little penguin just the cutest thing ever?  I decided to play up his cuteness by having him snowboarding on a candy cane into the centre of the card. The sentiment, which is also from the Snow Place stamp set, suits him too a" T".   I stamped the penguin in the new Basic Black archival ink along with the snowmen. I did the die-cuts using the Snow Friends Framelits.  I have the perfect family friends to send this too as their daughter is a professional Snowboarder!!

On the back I stamped another of the sentiments from the Snow Place set and that sweet little penguin again in Basic Black Archival ink. Too cute!

Thank you for stopping by today and I hope you come back again soon to see what else I have to share.

A Vintage Thanksgiving

Hello my crafty peeps!
Sorry for the gap in posts been trying to recuperate after my last class.  One of the classes I would like to do involves the Vintage Leaves stamp set and leaflet dies.  I just love this set and the rich colours of fall are my favorite palette.

For the attached card I used crushed curry and gold embossing powder on the leaves and then sponged on the colours.I added some gold ribbon, for some extra texture and bling. This is only the first in a series of cards I will be making with this set, so stay tuned.

Holiday Hedgehogs - Skating Pond

Hello my crafty peeps!

I have another festive make to share today. I have to get in all my Christmas-y projects before I start my classes and fitness activities. Today's make uses the "Holiday Hedgehogs" retired Stampin' Up! set paired with my Blendabilities markers and copics.

I love the skating hedgehog and wanted to create a pond for him to skate on. I love the Lovely as a Tree stamp set and hate that I don't seem to use it more when stamping... so here I go.

I stamped the main image using my Memento Black ink pad and then coloured and shaded with a variety of my markers. I sponged the edges of my Whisper White layer with Marina Mist, Night of Navy and Soft Sky ink to make a lake effect. I also heat embossed some Irredecent Ice on the trees and the sponged lake. I layered my stamped layer onto a peice of Old Olive CS that I embossed with the new "Woodland" emboss folder. I finished with a length of Cherry Cobbler ribbon and some silver ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today. Lovely to have you visit during Back to School week. I'd love to see your festive makes so please leave me a comment so I can pop by and visit your blogs or post a photo on my "Stamp with Karen" Facebook page.

Hugs, Karen
