Further to February 3rds post in regards to Faith Hunter Scrap This Mysteries by Christina Freeburn  today I will be reviewing book #2 Designed to Death.

Designed to Death is book two in the Faith Hunter Scrap This mystery series.  When Faith's store "Scrap This" ends up being the scene of a murder, Faith is once again thrust into the spotlight with the local police.

This is a well developed story, with well rounded characters.  Faith, her family and friends are enjoyable characters and I can picture them in my mind.  As a papercrafter I go to scrapbook stores , attend classes so am able to picture the scenes, but the author does a great job of describing it even if you aren't a crafter you get pulled in.  The protagonist Faith is growing in this installment and is also coming closer to facing her past and revealing it to her two grandmothers Hope and Cheryl.

There was humour, a little romance and lots of twists and turns. I could not put it down, had to finish it in one sitting. I honestly did not figure out who the murderer was until the end.

I recommend this book to cozy mystery lovers whether you are interested in scrapbooking or not.

Today I am revisiting a series I read a few years ago, by Christina Freeburn - Faith Hunter Scrap This Mysteries.   I will start off with book #1 and later in month review the next 2 installments.

So Faith decides to cut through the scrap and piece together what really happened. With a sexy prosecutor, a determined homicide detective, a handful of sticky suspects and a crop contest gone bad, Faith quickly realizes if she’s not careful, she’ll be the next one cropped.

Christina Freeburn's "CROPPED TO DEATH" is the first Faith Hunter Scrap This Mystery and was exactly the kind of book I wanted to read. It was a fun, crafty mystery, being a scrapbooker I enjoyed combining my two interests mysteries and crafting. 

The characters are well thought out and the protagonist, Faith Hunter, a former JAG and now current owner of Scrap This, is realistic . There is just the right amount of humour, romance, family dynamics, crafting and of course mystery, to make this a great story. I was kept guessing all through the book. The story drew me in from the beginning and kept me interested right to the end. 

I recommend this book to cozy mystery lovers whether you are interested in scrapbooking or not.

Christina Freeburn started jotting down stories on her thirty-minute bus commute to middle school and still hasn't stopped (though the bus commuting has).

The Faith Hunter Scrap This Mystery series is a mix of crafty and crime, bringing together Christina's love of mysteries, scrapbooking, and West Virginia.

The New Beginnings series is an inspirational romantic suspense featuring heroines and heroes willing to risk their lives in order to find hope, promise and a future for those struggling in a world that seems set against them.

Christina served in the JAG Corps of the US Army and also worked as a paralegal, librarian, and church secretary. She lives in West Virginia with her husband, children, a dog, and a rarely seen cat except by those who are afraid or allergic to felines.

Tale of 2 Kitties mini album revisited

Hello my crafty friends!

I am taking a look back at the cat mini album I made a few years ago.  I am happy with the way it turned out and being my first one, I will learnt from my mistakes.  I was pleased that both of them really liked it. 

I gave to them in July of 2015 when I flew to Vegas to meet them for the first time as they were spending a week there to see our other cousin before flying home to New Zealand.  I had been chatting with her every day for almost the 2 years prior to this.

As you can see I have used fairly large rings and not put a back cover on it, this way I can send her more pages as time goes on or she can add her own.  FYI - I have not done more pages, but did buy the thick board pages to do some up, maybe for their new house at the beach...

My Hero

Hi friends

I have been thinking about scrap-booking once again and I think I am finally in a place that I can start to work again on my Dad album etc. I have all the traditional stuff for doing my pages but have been thinking on how I can incorporate some of my Project Life supplies and my Cricut.

If you are a close friend of mine you will know that I already have an abundance of scrapbooking albums, embellishments, flowers, and paper without having to go near my card-making supply (can we say hoarder)

As many of you know my father passed away just over 5 years ago, about 6 months prior I had started an album for him with photos of him as a young man, photos of us together and then recent photos of him with his grandson Lucas.  You knew if he was having a bad day all you needed to do was say Lucas' name and the biggest smile would come across his face.  I was not able to look at the album or work on it after he had passed just to difficult but now I think I can sit down and work on those pages depicting how he was my hero.

I have also been thinking of adding pages of my nephew and niece to the Hollins Family album.
