Using Stampin' Up! Heat & Stick Powder!

Hello my crafty peeps!

As requested by one of you, I will share how to use the Stampin' Up! Heat & Stick powder again.

You can find this also on my Stampin' Up! website under Ideas - Techniques...

  1. Stamp image with VersaMark or Craft Stampin’ Pad.
  2. Apply Heat & Stick powder to the inked image. Shake off excess powder onto a coffee filter or folded piece of paper and funnel it back into its container.
  3. Heat image with the heat tool just until powder turns to liquid. Do not overheat.
  4. Pour glitter onto the inked image, making sure that the image is coated completely.
  5. Shake off excess glitter as described in Step 2.
  6. Heat again briefly to set.

This is great for those Christmas cards that you want to have a bit of bling, sparkle and glitter on!!

Hope this helps...

If I can give you just a little inspiration, where you can look at one of my cards and think I can do that, or I could tweak that and put my own spin on it, then I am achieving what I have set out to do!

Reflection Technique

This is a great technique, I always thought it would be hard or to complicated to try but I bit the bullet today!  It is so easy but makes a card look so awesome! All you need to do this project is a window sheet (like an overhead transparency). Stamp your image on your cardstock in a dark color . Then stamp the image again on the window sheet , flip it over and line it up with the original image on your cardstock and then gently rub the back of the window sheet so it transfers to your cardstock. Sponge over the center of the images where they overlap and voila, you now have a reflection.  The great thing too is it works GREAT with two of my FAVORITE sets "Lovely as a Tree" and "Wetlands".

Here is one of the card I made today with Step by Step Instructions:

  1. Ink your image and stamp onto your cardstock.
  2. Ink your image with the same ink and stamp it on your piece of acetate
  3. Flip your piece of acetate over so your stamped image is facing down. Line it up with your first image to create your reflection. Place acetate on cardstock.
  4. Gently rub over your acetate. It will transfer the image from the acetate to your cardstock.
  5. Doodle, sponge or paint ground underneath your image.
  6. Add water or ice looking background around your reflected image

Bursting through!

Hello my crafty peeps!

I am attempting to have regularly scheduled posts with things like Technique Tuesday, Motivation Monday, and the list goes on.  Well at least that is my plan for 2016!

Today I thought I would talk about a technique I have used several times especially with my owl and cat stamps.  Create an opening in your card where a character can emerge.  You can find a full tutorial at Splitcoasters... but it is a really easy technique.
(I apologise that the photos are not that great especially the cat one)
