Santa Fry Box

Hello my crafty peeps!

Today I am sharing another project we did last winter, that we have also made for the Bearspaw Christmas Market on November 26th, 2016.

I made very similar to the other treat boxes I made.
  1. Real Red CS cut in half at 5.5", I also die-cut  the belt with Basic Black CS using the Fry Box Die.
  2. Position a 1/2" strip of Basic Black over the center of the box front, and run it through the Big Shot.  To make the Belt Details, adhere the die-cut belt with Fast Fuse or Sticky Strip.  Punch a Petite Curly Label shape or square from Silver Glimmer Paper, then pop up with Dimensionals.  Add a 1/2" square of Basic Black over the center of the buckle with Glue Dots.
  3. To make the Santa we die cut his hair/hat fur with the Wonderful Wreath die on Whisper White CS and the Mustache die. Then we used the large oval punch to cut out his face out of Blushing Bride CS.  Using the Owl punch we also cut out 2 circles for the nose and mouth out of Blushing Bride and a small circle out of Real Red.  If you chose not to use google eyes, you would make the eyes with the Owl punch as well.
  4. Using the 2" circle punch cut out a piece of Real Red CS for the hat which is glued to the back of the Whisper White CS wreath cut out.
  5. Now assemble your face, we started by attaching the mustache with pop up with Dimensionals. Then the nose, mouth and finally the eyes.   We inked the nose, and face to give it some dimension, I also used the Stampin Write marker for some eyebrows.

Christmas Dog Treats

Hello my crafty peeps!!!

I wanted to share these cute little Christmas dog treats. The original idea I saw on Pinterest and on Janet Holmes blog .
Original Photo courtesy of Janet Holmes/Pinterest
These would be perfect for those little furbabies in our lives, stocking stuffers, and even neighbor gifts. These are quick and easy to make!  We will have lots available at the Bearspaw Christmas Market on November 26th, 2016.

I have so many furbabies that happen to be canine not feline that it will work out perfect but I also have some that are of the kitty nature including my own, so I plan on making 2 versions....

I used the Top Note die as the topper and stamped dog with the Bella and Friends stamp set.  I also used a past Paper Pumpkin Kit for the large bones and a stamp from one of my Newton Nooks sets.

Being the crazy cat lady, I have lots of paw stamps, and dog stamps and dies so made a selection of these with different pictures of dogs.

The nice thing is you can purchase organic dog and cat treats or bake your own.

Items Used:
Stamps: Bella and Friends, All about sugar
Paper: Whisper White cs, Cherry Cobbler cs, Old Olive cs,
Accessories: Top Note Die, Scallop punch, circle punch, Cherry Cobbler Ink, Tuxedo Black Memento, Crystal Effects, Wink of Stella

Hope you like and feel inspired to try your own version.  Love to see any of your versions...

Hugs, Karen

Cookie Cutter Christmas & NEW Stitched Shapes Framelits

Hello my crafty peeps,

I know I said I was taking a break from blogging but.... I needed a break from the pressure of making fair items today.  I thought I would make some cards since I am very behind in making and sending.

Today's project I decided to use 3 items from the holiday catalog; Coolie Cutter Christmas, Candy Cane Lane and lastly the NEW Stitched Shapes Framelits from Stampin Up!

I have seen some great cards on Pinterest and take my inspiration from those.  But what I love about the Candy Cane Lane DSP is the colour combination of Real red, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and lastly Whisper White they are timeless Christmas colours and I just wish we could get beyond January 1st.

Measurements:
  • Crumb Cake card base: 5 1/2 "x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4 "
  • Early Espresso strip: 5 1/2" x 2 1/4 "
  • Candy Cane Lane DSP strip: 5-1/2" x 2 "
  • Whisper White stitched oval
  • Real Red stitched oval
  • Soft Suede scrap

Directions:
  1. Stamp the Reindeer with Early Espresso or Emboss Powder and punch out with Cookie Cutter Builder Punch. Colour in the nose with Real Red, Stampin Dazzling Diamonds or cover with piece of Red Glitter paper.  We added google eyes for a quirky/cutesty look
  2. Pop the Reindeer on the ovals with Stampin 'Dimensionals. The first layer is a Whisper White oval, the second layer is a Real Red oval cut out with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. (I have always been a fan of the stitched look, so am loving that Stampin' Up! came out with these.)
  3. Lastly stamp your sentiment or go one step further and emboss your sentiment.
Hope you like it!  Happy stamping ...

Sabbatical from Classes

Hello my crafty friends,

Life serves up a series of choices, and our decisions affect our quality of life — spiritually, mentally, relationship-ally, emotionally and financially.  With this in mind I have decided to take a break from classes as well as tea and crafting.

Each choice leads to another, and another… it's a process of building a life, in which I am happy, less stressed and lastly healthier.

I will continue with my blogging and post photos of my creations, fur-baby family and back garden on Instagram as I feel up to it but for the next 3 - 6 months I will be trying to disconnect.

Everybody needs a quick option for wrapping Christmas goodies and gifts this time of year. I stocked up on the Gusseted Cellophane Bags (item 142001).  Just pop a treat or gift into the bag and simply add a ribbon and tag to dress it up. These food-safe 6" x 17" bags come in packs of 25.

Check out the video below to see some fun ways to use the bags and share it with your friends and family!
