A Charming Deception by Tonya Kappes

Hello my cozy friends,

Today I am reviewing “A Charming Deception” the final instalment in the “Magical Cures Mystery” series by Tonya Kappes.  This was the first series I ever read by Tonya Kappes and I instantly fell in love with it and couldn’t read them fast enough.  It’s bittersweet that the series is ending but I know Tonya has some great new series ideas in the works.

Welcome to Whispering Fall where magic and mystery collide!Bubble...Bubble...June Heal and Oscar Park are beyond thrilled with the upcoming arrival of their baby.

Cures and Trouble...
June's pregnancy is turning out to more at risk than anticipated and she has to go to a specialist doctor outside of Whispering Falls where patients are nosey and hormones are raging, leaving the nurses and receptionist at their wits ends and bickering at each other.

Magic Stirs...
Poor June is put on limited activity. The baby is proving to a little mischievous and magic before it's even born and leaving the doctors a little miffed with all the different ultrasound shenanigans.

Trouble Doubles...
June's hormones have messed with her intuition and spiritual gifts, leaving her unsure of things going on around her. On one of her many doctor appointments, June arrives a little early and find the receptionist strangled to death. June can't help herself and decides to put her amateur and magical sleuthing skills to the test to try to bring the killer to justice...or are her hormones deceiving her?

I am sad that this series is ending, but I do love the way it ended As I am hoping maybe some of the characters can crossover and visit in one of the other series... maybe the new Magical Bakery series.

I found myself reading over several days, maybe cause I wanted prolong my stay in Whispering Falls.  It had become my wonderful escape when times were bleak, and made me into the fan I am for Tonya’s books.

It was entertaining, funny, full of twists and turns as well as a few surprises. I usually can suspect the whodunnit but in this case the murderer and the reason for the murder were a huge surprise.

I highly recommend this series to all my cozy loving friends.

I requested and received an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my OWN.
