T-Ball Champ!!

Hello my crafty peeps,

Here is another project we did at T-ball church camp.  Deanne created this cute little photo album card with legal size envelopes.

We started with one legal size envelope folded in half. Then trimmed off the ends which creates your pockets.  We layered CS on top and then a 2nd layer in Whisper White. Prior to adhering we stamped with the retired Stampin Up! "Just Baseball" set, using Daffodil Delight, Night of Navy and Real Red.

On the inside we used coordinating DSP and Layered with Whisper White again. Using a stencil in shape of a circle we stamped the lines for journaling, added some baseball themed stamps. On the right hand side we just had DSP with a fussy cut ball cap glued in corner.

For the tabs we cut CS to fit, used the tab punch , stamped the bats in Crumb Cake, fussy cut and glued ends, left unattached in middle so a photo could slide in.

We had a great week entertaining the mum's while the kids played, despite all the thunderstorms.

Hope you like this project and try out a version of your own.  Please post a photo of yours in the comments.

If I can give you just a little inspiration, where you can look at one of my cards and think I can do that, or I could tweak that and put my own spin on it, then I am achieving what I have set out to do!

P.S. Please share. with your friends and leave me a comment below. I read them ALL!

Hope Your Day Goes Swimmingly

Hello my crafty peeps,

I must apologize for being absent the last little while, between vacations and helping out at Church camp things have slipped through the cracks.

Once again I am in the process of changing the craft room, this time I am painting it a soft Maui Mist colour.  This will definitely brighten it up down there and fit in with my cottage/shabby chic theme.
I think I might have to hire someone to paint for me as I started today but had to quit due to migraines.

I have a few cards to share that we made at church camp last week.

Measurements:
  • Dapper Denim full card 5 1/2" X 8 1/2"
  • By the Shore DSP 4 1/8" X 5 3/8"
  • Very Vanilla 2 1/2" X 3 1/4"
  • Soft Sky 2 5/8" X 3 3/8"
* original idea from LeeAnn Greff

Hope you like it!!!

If I can give you just a little inspiration, where you can look at one of my cards and think I can do that, or I could tweak that and put my own spin on it, then I am achieving what I have set out to do!

#420 Sketch Saturday - Born to Ride

Hello my crafty peeps!

Thought I would do the Sketch Saturday today and challenge my friends to play along.  In the spirit of Calgary Stampede, I wanted to do a Country style card.  I chose to use a horse stamp I had laying around and the new Stampin' Up! Born to Ride stamp set and Country Livin stamp set.

I really should have had a few more circles on my card per the sketch but I couldn't get it to work....
But I hope you like it.

Hugs, Karen

Sweet as can Bee!!

Hello my crafty peeps!
Sorry I haven't written to much over the last few weeks with England and Vancouver Island I have been away from the craft room.  So many great ideas came to mind when thinking  about starting a project; but the one that won was this fun little ‘slider card’ using the Shooting Star Bundle in the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalogue.

Here's what you need:

  • Stamps
  • Various Paper
  • Ink & coloring supplies
  • Foam mounting circles
  • Shooting Star dies and ruler
  • Scissors
  • Two pennies
  1.  Make a card base 5 1/4" by 4 1/4" in your choice of colour, I used  as it coordinated with the scrap piece of paper I used for the front.
  2. Die cut the circle from your patterned paper.  If sturdy enough you won't need to mount it on CS first.
  3. Adhere to front of your card base with the foam strips available from Stampin' Up! or whatever foam you have at hand.
  4. Stamp and colour your Bee image.  I stamped the Bee in Memento and coloured with my Copic Markers then die cut out.
  5. Add Wink of Stella to the wings and stripes.
  6. Stamp the Bee Hive on Hello Honey CS in Chocolate Chip ink and die cut.
  7. Stick a dimensional between the two pennies to create a sandwich.
  8. Insert your penny sandwich into the slot you created.
  9. Then adhere your image on top of the penny. If you move your cardstock, your image should slide around the circle.
  10. Add your sentiment
  11. Cut a piece of Very Vanilla CS 4" by 5 1/4" for the inside of your card.
  12. Embellish as you wish.
Here’s cute video from Stampin’ Up! on slider cards and showcasing the Shooting Star Bundle.

If I can give you just a little inspiration, where you can look at one of my cards and think I can do that, or I could tweak that and put my own spin on it, then I am achieving what I have set out to do!
