Simple Soft!!

Good morning my crafty peeps!

I must apologise now for showing so many retired stamps on my blog, but as I am relatively new to Stampin' Up! products these are all new to me and so so beautiful not to share.

I was lucky to purchase the retired Stampin' Up! Simple Soft Hostess set (2012) as it is such an elegant stamp set.  I belong to a facebook group called Canadian Stampers and it is a great group of ladies but you need to be fast to snag the retired stamps you love!

I took my inspiration from a card I had seen on Pinterest, I wish I had the DSP she used as it was very beautiful.
I have received so so much new and fun stuff in the last 3 months I thought I better start using them.

I used my new textured Impressions Embossing Folders. This one comes in a set of 2 beautiful frames. Create strongly embossed highlights, frames and accents on single layers of cardstock and DSP with these smaller sized plastic textured Impressions embossing Folders. The oval shape in the middle coordinates with the Extra Large Oval Punch or the framelits.  I love that Stampin Up thinks of those fun details. It makes creating pretty cards so much easier.

I also used my favorite type of ribbon the soft flowing 1/2 '' Seam Binding Pool Party Ribbon.

Hope you like it!

Hugs, Karen

Wetlands revisited

Hello my crafty peeps!

As I'm away I thought I would revisit this post from 2015. Enjoy 😊

It's cool and rainy outside again today, that's why I felt like I could fiddle with a birthday card with the stamp set "Wetlands".

I thought at first I would use cool colours like Greys, Marina Mist etc.  but I always seem to gravitate to the natural colours of Old Olive, Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake when doing the nature stamps.

I am taking a departure from using my copics and really enjoying the water color inks of Stampin' Up!

Hope you like it!

Hugs, Karen

"Corner Garden"

Hello my crafty peeps!!

I thought I would finally try out the "Corner Garden" stamp set. I have embossed in clear and then water coloured

I have used the following colors Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Raspberry Ripple and Old Olive. I find that colouring is always very relaxing and therapeutic.

If you like this card and the stamp you can find it in the Stampin Up Catalogue on page

Tea and Crafting - Shaker Card

Hello my crafty peeps!

Been working on a Christmas Shaker Card for Thursday 's Tea and Crafting session.
First time for me so I am pretty excited.  I am using a retired Stampin' Up! Stamp called "Stitched Snowman" and The Northern Flurry Snowflake dies set.

As I am typing I just thought of a great idea, tomorrow when doing the card with friends we will stamp the inside snowflake and emboss!

As you can see in the photos, it's been trial and error on deciding how to do this card.  First I had all white, then changed my mind and added in the Tempting Turquoise cards stock for the base and ink.

I sponged the Tempting Turquoise on the background to match the base.

I used Stickles on this sample card but will use irredentist Ice in the class.

Stay tuned for the final version.....

Hugs, Karen
